Walking back to my office from a delicious morning bagel breakfast sandwich, I noticed three lanes of stopped traffic in one direction. And honking.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
But then I see a couple of random heads poking up from just ahead of the stopped traffic... Hmm... is mass jaywalking back in style?
I strained my neck, unleashing my rubbernecking gene just in time to spot a tiny duck and 9 of its wee ones chilling in the middle of Glebe Rd. The traffic on my side was unaware of the cuteness headed it's way, so I jumped in and helped usher the ducklings back to where they started. To the gentlemen in the car who watched and gave me a thanks as he passed... just that simple small gesture made my day.
Little did I know that the duck would want to eventually wander back over, as pointed out to my by the security guards working in my building. Duh - the lake is behind us! So two of my coworkers (thanks for the digging, Jenny Brown!), the guards and I rushed out to escort the furry family back across the road and down to the lake, stopping even more traffic and creating smiles along the way.
It's the little joys that make life so sweet...
I've been ignoring you, Vox, because you lack one special quaility that has converted me to the dark side (Facebook - *gasp!*).
Games. Word games. I'm a sucker for them.
Scrabble. Scramble. Word Twist. Pathwords.
They excite me and attempt to get my brain a'workin. And I can play with my friends.
So, Vox, get games, and until then, my sweet neighbors, get on Facebook so I can beat you at Scrabble.
;)
Imagine my surprise when I found out that Starbucks sells a Short. No, my dear friends, Tall is NOT the smallest size on the menu. Sneaky bastards. Perhaps $5.00/gallon might be a bit more affordable if they dared advertise a more economical cup o'joe.
I think I may have to buy myself some magazines after work... and a baby too...

I finally made it back to work, and what a lovely day to be greeted by a prize from the Angry Bunny!
You made my day, Mr. Wislander. Thanks.
